Heartsaver® CPR AED

Heartsaver® CPR AED – Classroom

Heartsaver CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.

completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

 

What this course teaches

After successfully completing this course, students should be able to

  • Describe how high-quality CPR improves survival
  • Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival
  • Recognize when someone needs CPR
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an adult
  • Describe how to perform CPR with help from others
  • Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
  • Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult
  • Perform high-quality CPR for a child*
  • Demonstrate how to use an AED on a child*
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an infant*
  • Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child
  • Demonstrate how to help a choking infant*

*Child and infant modules are optional.

 

Course Emphasis

  • Reflects the latest science and education from the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC), the AHA’s Heartsaver CPR AED Course provides students the highest quality training in the lifesaving skills of CPR and how to use an AED.

During the course, an AHA Instructor conducts video-based lessons and works with students to complete their CPR and AED skills practice and testing.

Upon completion of this course, students receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED Course Completion Card that is valid for two years

Heartsaver® CPR AED – Online

All Heartsaver Online courses are non- refundable.

Part 1 of the Heartsaver® CPR AED Online class is a Web-based, convenient and self-directed program. This CPR AED online class teaches students critical skills and the knowledge needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrive.

Part 2 of the CPR AED online class is the skills check off which will be done at our location with an approved AHA course instructor. Please call to schedule an appointment.

All Heartsaver Online courses are non-refundable.

Heartsaver® First Aid

Heartsaver® First Aid – Classroom

This First Aid class is a video-based, instructor-led program that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives.

Students learn duties and responsibilities of First Aid rescuers. The First Aid training actions for medical emergencies includes severe choking, heart attack, and stroke. The First Aid class teaches skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones sprains, bites and stings.

The Heartsaver First Aid class trains participants first aid basics for the most common first aid emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills.

This program reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) and the 2020 AHA/Red Cross Guidelines for First Aid.

The Heartsaver First Aid Online class is the eLearning portion of the Heartsaver First Aid Blended Learning program and teaches information needed for First Aid training.

The First Aid Online class teaches skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones sprains, bites and stings.

In order for the program to be concluded and a First Aid eCard awarded, a skills check off must be completed. This portion can be scheduled at our location with an approved AHA course instructor. Please call to schedule an appointment.

All Heartsaver Online courses are non-refundable.

This complete Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED class is a video-based, instructor-led program that trains students on adult, child, and infant CPR, AED use, and choking while also covering first aid training.

The CPR AED First class teaches critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrives.

Students must complete the online portion, followed by the hands-on skills session conducted by an American Heart Association Training Center instructor. Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED provides students the highest quality training in the lifesaving skills of first aid, CPR, and use of an AED. This course empowers students to act with confidence in the event of an emergency at work, home, or in the community.

This course offers the flexibility of two different course paths:

  • Heartsaver – Shorter Heartsaver course path offers the flexibility to add optional topics. Add on optional topics when required topics are completed.
  • Heartsaver Total – Comprehensive course designed for those requiring training to meet OSHA or other regulatory agency requirements.

Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED – Class

This Pediatric First Aid CPR AED class is a video-based, Instructor-led course that teaches students to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.

This Pediatric CPR AED First Aid class covers the Four Steps of Pediatric First Aid and modules in: Pediatric First Aid, Child/Infant CPR AED, Adult CPR AED and Asthma Care Training.

This course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for childcare workers in all 50 U.S. states.

Covers topics like using a tourniquet, shock, internal bleeding, burns and electrical injuries, allergic reactions, breathing problems & dehydration, diabetes & low blood sugar, heat-and cold-related emergencies, drowning, amputations, bites and stings, broken bones and sprains. Also covers splinters, nose bleeds, fainting, seizures, and injuries to the head, eyes, neck, spine, mouth, and teeth.
